2010 - 2011
Slipstream Recycling was founded in 2010 to collect and recycle materials that were not accepted by Philadelphia residential recycling collection. We collected plastics 1-7, styrofoam, and Aseptic (Wax Board) from over 60 households, Schools, and Businesses in the Philadelphia area.
A major focus of the company was community education and awareness of recyclable materials. This was done through educational YouTube videos, assistive material identification tags for sorting materials, and feedback on material sorting.
Collection stopped in 2011 when Philadelphia began to collect many of the materials that Slipstream Collected. In total, the company collected and recycled over 1 ton of material.
