Member of the Manufacturing Architecture team, responsible for developing and implementing new processes across the Apple supply chain:

  • Identifies, develops, and promotes novel composite manufacturing approaches that extend across product lines. Leads the Composites Center of Exploration to educate and provide best practices for the company-wide adoption of composite materials.

  • Led carbon fiber process development for Vision Pro from drop builds through ramp, enabling higher stiffness and reduced weight.

  • MDE for Vision Pro mechanisms; oversaw BOM management, MILs, DOEs, CpK report review, and line qualification to ensure part quality and production readiness.

  • Managed end-to-end technology transfer of a complex multi-process optical material production line from the U.S. to Taiwan over two years, including documentation, procurement, equipment installation, qualification, and process optimization.

  • Developed softgoods SPMs, from early-stage hands-on prototyping of custom sewing machines to process development and qualification in partnership with machine builders in China.

University of Pennsylvania, Lecturer, IPD 501 - Advanced Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Spring 2017
Instructed and developed curriculum for a 500-level engineering design course focused on teaching students the intricacies of design and manufacturing through engaging projects. Course topics included: CNC mill and lathe programming and operation, 3D printing, urethane casting, injection molding, composite layup, DFM, and team management.

Dragon Mechanisms Design Engineering Intern, SpaceX Fall 2016
Designed, analyzed, documented, and built components for the crewed Dragon spacecraft.

Manufacturing Equipment Design Engineer, Tesla Motors Summer 2016
Designed and implemented manufacturing automation equipment for the Model S, X, and 3 lines. Owned the end-to-end process from concept design to implementation, including 3D CAD, engineering drawings, manufacturing, and qualification.

Manufacturing Design Intern, Apple Inc Summer 2015
SME Intern in Surface Finishing, specifically anodizing and blast. Designed and manufactured two Arduino based 8 sensor in-line pressure data acquisition units to monitor, control, and reduce variability in blast pressures. Developed an energy model of the blast process that improved selection of test parameters and yields.

Mechanical Designer, Parametric Dining, LLC 2013 - 2015
Product design and development of point-of-sale tablets and docking stations. Extensive design, DFM, coordination, and cost analysis. Designed clear and understandable assembly documentation.

3D Printing Consultant, UPenn AddLab  2014 - Present
Design for 3D printing including design of medical devices and consumer product prototypes. Operation of various 3D printers including Stratasys Dimension, and 3D systems ProJet 6000.

Mechanical Engineering Intern, Senvol, LLC  Summer 2013
Worked closely with Wharton MBA graduates to develop a business that utilizes additive and rapid manufacturing to provide on-site and on-demand replacement parts for commercial applications.

Founder and Owner, Slipstream Recycling LLC  2009 - 2011
Founded and ran a recycling collection business in center city Philadelphia focused on increasing community awareness and the amount of material recycled in the city. Serviced more than 60 households and diverted over 3500 pounds of recyclable materials from landfills.

Projects - University of Pennsylvania

SCUBAssist 2015 - 2016
Collaborated with a team of five to design and build an autonomous underwater vehicle capable of tracking SCUBA divers and capturing stabilized, well-framed video footage. Led the design, structural analysis, and fabrication of the primary pressure vessel and custom circuit boards. The project earned 1st Place at the Intel Cornell Cup and 2nd Place in the University of Pennsylvania Senior Design Competition.

Penn Electric Racing  2013 - 2016
Oversaw the design and manufacturing of all composite components for two competition vehicles. Contributed to team leadership and mentored new members in design and fabrication practices. REVONE placed 1st and REVTWO placed 2nd at the FSAE National Competition. PennElectricRacing.com

Robockey  Completed Fall 2014
Integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems to create a team of hockey-playing robots that placed 2nd out of 20 teams. Contributed to robot design (SolidWorks), manufacture (3D printing), and programming (C).

Vertical Axis Wind Turbine  Completed Fall 2014
Wind-tunnel tested small Darrieus-type (lift based) models. Scaled, designed, and manufactured large turbine.

Jet Boat  Completed Spring 2014
Design and manufactured of a remote controlled, electric jet-powered boat. Machined turbine housings and 3D printed impeller. Constructed carbon fiber hull. Member of a 7-person team.

Stirling Engine  Completed Fall 2013
Design, 3D modeling, and fabrication of a fully functioning heat engine with attached generator. Part of a mechanical design and machining class.
